Dear Father Gene and Friends of St. Mary's,
Special greetings to all of you on the vigil of the great feast of Epiphany! I will be the
celebrant for our Sunday liturgy on the feast of the Three Kings, and there will be wise
women along with the men for the gospel.
Our Christmas was so blessed by all of you in the rural areas with your financial help.
Everyone was delighted with their Christmas packages, especially the lovely SOCKS!
Some of the children walked 5 hours in order to be present, knowing that there would be
something special for them at Christmas. And the meal was delicious, with freshly
butchered beef, a rarity for those people. There were sheep right outside the church door,
and I suppose they thought they were invited also. Actually, an elderly woman was helping
them find some grass to eat!
I will be returning to Ruma the middle of January, and I hope to see you.
