St. Mary's Parish
Bulletin Board
* POPEYE PICNIC TIME is just around the corner on September 5, 6, and 7.  The ladies will once again
have their smorgasboard on Sunday the 7th from 11:00AM-2-00PM at the KC Hall.  The annual Sacred
Concert will also be held in church on Sunday the 7th at 2:00PM.  This year's concert is dedicated to the
memory of Sue Reiman.

* CSMA UPDATE: As of July 18 our parish has pledged $39,789.88 to the Catholic Services and
Ministries Appeal.  That is fantastic!  Only 8 parishes in our Diocese have pledged more money, and
they are all much larger parishes.  God Bless You for your sacrifices.

* RESPECT LIFE BLOG: You are invited to read the 1968 encyclical "Humane Vitae" and to participate
in an online discussion from August 25-31 at
www.diobellerespectlife.blogspot.com.  There is a link to
this often referenced document on the website.  No registration is required; however, you are
encouraged to read the document before entering into the conversation.

* PSR CLASSES for children not enrolled in our parish school will begin on Sunday, September 14.  If
you have a child who has not attended PSR before or if you need a registration form, call Cheryl Gross at
826-2526/853-2678.

* R.C.I.A.: Do you know of someone who would like to find out more about the Catholic Church?  Would
you like a "refresher" course on your faith?  RCIA sessions will begin on October 14.  Call Cheryl Gross
at 826-2526/853-2678 or Fr. Gene at 826-2444 for more information or to register.  It is not too early to
do so!

* FOOD BARREL: Thank you to those who continue to bring items to place in our food barrel at the main
entrance of church for the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry.  Particularly needed are cereal items and
"heat and eat" items such as canned meats and pastas and boxed dinners.  With food prices continuing
to increase, more individuals are coming to the pantry for help.  Over 400 individuals were served in the
month of June.

* THANK YOU to everyone who contributes to our improvement fund collection twice per month.  Your
generosity allows us to keep up with the much needed maintenance on our parish grounds.

* OUR MILITARY PAGE: Submissions for our Military Tribute Page on our website have been slow in
coming in.  If you know of someone from our parish currently in active service, has died in the line of duty,
or is a veteran, please submit their name and a little background information so we can recognize them
for their brave service.  Drop me an e-mail at
webmaster@maryhoc.org, drop a note in the collection or
drop a note by the parish office.  A photo would also be welcomed.
Do you have any photos from parish events, etc?  Do you have any upcoming
events that you would like to have advertised on our bulletin board?  I would love to
publish them on our website.  E-mail me at
webmaster@maryhoc.org.  I would also
love to hear what you think about our website, and any suggestions you have.
